Cape Charles, Virginia

I spent my birthday weekend in Cape Charles, Virginia with my son and our neighbors while the dads and daughters went camping. This was my 5th or 6th time visiting Cape Charles and each time I find something new to explore or taste. Along with trying new things, there are some must do’s such as eating at The Shanty, debating which ice cream place is the best, and picking out a new book (or 3) at Peach Street Books.

Unfortunately, it was not beach/swimming weather. We spent at lot of time in the airbnb reading, drawing, watching tv, and playing games. We did a lot of shopping on Mason Avenue which is not something we usually do much of when the weather is nice. The kids bought books at Peach Street Books, got ice cream at Cowlick’s Creamery, toys at the toy store and shirts/hoodies at Chuckletown Productions.

Despite it being cold and windy, we did spend a couple hours on the beach. The boys had fun digging, making sand castles, and searching for snails. We can’t wait to return this summer when it’s much warmer.
